Beautiful Music About Terrible Things
“We begin with a piece of music that is the perfect storm of brilliance, but even more than that, even more than being a fantastic stand alone track, this is a sign post to a distant place where the word greatness is painted in 12 feet tall letters.” This Reality Podcast
“With sharp cheekbones and an even more piercing jolt of fiery, spiked guitars blended amidst a cloud of dreamy post-rock, there’s something immediately bewitching about the sound of LDS. This is the perfect setting for the gothic burlesque dancers that twirl around the stage – sensual and dazzling. Carrying the spirit of Jeff Buckley to great heights with an enthralling sense of Muse’s operatic melodrama and a dash of Ennio Morricone’s atmospheric soundscapes, their set is an impressive exercise in eclecticism and raw-nerved talent” Left Lion

Unashamedly influenced by the heavyweights of pop, punk and grunge, the Smears have stamped a stiletto heel right through the heart of it, added louder guitars, driving bass lines, pounding drums and venomous vocals.
Through out this time, the Smears have taken the UK by storm, never leaving an audience unsatisfied. Their fearless ability and unapologetic attitude grips the audience from beginning to end and leaves them begging for more.
With the imminent release of their album ‘Hell in High Heels,’ the girls are stepping it up a notch and are more than ready for it. Are you?
“The Smears are not for the faint hearted as they demolish any preconceived ideas you might hold about a ‘girl group’. The lyrics set the mind racing as rapidly as the beat fires up the adrenalin. Spiky, raw and irresistibly alluring; that’s what makes The Smears the hottest female group to come out of this Country .” Dean Jackson BBC Radio Nottingham

Flying Robot Pimp was formed out of the charred fiery mess of rubble and debris that was the result of the atom bomb style explosion of two seminal bands Allotment Dogs and the mighty mighty powerpop outifit Cho Cho San.
The remaining members of those two bands that were left standing after the fall out decided to band together into a tight knit fighting unit in order to survive in the Mad Max style Futuristic apocalypse style world they now found themselves inhabiting.
Their only means of defence against the angry hordes of baying music fans that surrounded them at every turn was to pick up their instruments and blast out power pop tunes. These seemed to placate the haters and they quickly rose to the top of the pile to become seen as demi gods in this hostile land, after the breaking down of all the major religions there was born a new religion, “Pimpular Robotism” and its followers were to be known as “Robotists”.
